Smart security alarms

VIA ONE SECURE SMARTPHONE APP

Our smart security alarms are approved by the UK police initiative, Secured by Design. And they do more than protect your home from intruders and burglars, they also:

  • give you complete control of your alarm system via a simple app on your smartphone
  • allow to check the status of your system anywhere in the world and turn it on or off remotely
  • provide real-time push notifications and verification whenever your alarm is triggered
  • offer live-view of your premises via cameras linked to your system and listen in / talkback to your premises
  • back up visual evidence on triggering of your alarm, with video clips securely stored on the Cloud and easily accessible via your smartphone
  • provide the option to integrate smart home controls for your lighting, cameras, doorbells and plug points.

We are NSI approved which means we have meet the standards of the UK’s leading UKAS accredited certification body within the security systems, manned security services and fire safety sectors. A not-for-profit organisation helping to protect homeowners, businesses and the general public through rigorous independent auditing of more than 1800 security and safety providers throughout the UK.

All NSI approved companies are regularly audited.

As a buyer you want to know your security and fire safety provider is reputable and trustworthy with the expertise to translate your needs into a solution that’s right for you.

Many insurers recognise NSI approved companies and the systems they install. Your insurer may ask for a copy of the NSI Certificate of Compliance as proof that installation work was conducted by an NSI approved company. Check with your insurer whether having a security alarm system installed and maintained by an NSI approved company leaves you eligible to a discount on your insurance premium.

The NSI story began in 1971 with the formation of the National Supervisory Council for Intruder Alarms (NSCIA), to deal with the problem of poor quality installations and ‘cowboys’ within the intruder alarm market.

20 years later, the National Approval Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) was formed from the merger of NSCIA and the Security Systems Inspectorate (SSI). Its role was to continue to improve standards in line with increasingly tougher requirements of the insurance sector and the police national alarms policy.

NACOSS was instrumental in improving standards in the security industry, achieving widespread recognition from insurers, police and security buyers. CCTV and access control systems were added to the portfolio covered by NACOSS.

You are advised not to buy a security system from a supplier without this accreditation.

Even security needs security!

Secured by Design

We also use Risco equipment, which is the ONLY security equipment secured by design – this is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit.
The Police Preferred Specification - provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.

RISCO Group is Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation for RISCO Cloud, an enhanced software-based service solution for managing and controlling intruder detection. This follows SBD accreditation for LightSYSTM 2, RISCO’s flagship intruder alarm panel system.

Secured by Design, the national police initiative, combines the principles of ‘designing out crime’ with physical security and accredits relevant quality products that meet its stringent standards to deter and reduce crime.

As part of a global security group, Manchester headquartered RISCO has over 40 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of intruder alarm panels, detectors and associated products.

RISCO is considered the first company in the sector to integrate cloud-based services into its business model. This has helped to generate significant crime reduction with self-monitoring allowing end-users to immediately respond to alerts. Based on the Microsoft Azure platform, RISCO Cloud delivers a higher level of security than traditional on-premises solutions.

LightSYSTM 2 is an established and highly respected intruder alarm panel that is utilised in residential and commercial settings. It provides a range of secure communication options and the ability to include elements such as video verification cameras and home automation. Such devices have the potential to further reduce crime with event triggered video clip recording, live video viewing and automatic lighting of a property.

Ian Stones, Head of Sales for RISCO UK says : “RISCO has long been the trailblazer of crime reduction technologies and is consistently leading innovations to stay one step ahead of the evolving sophistication of many property intrusions. Whether this is developing panels and detectors with increased catch performance to ultra-secure cloud platforms, the goal remains the same as SBD – to design out crime.”

“Our full incorporation of Secured by Design principles will provide additional reassurance to installers and end-users alike that a RISCO system is the ultimate enemy of any potential burglar!”

Hazel Goss, Development Officer, Secured by Design, adds: “We are delighted to be working with the long-established RISCO Group on their latest range of ever smarter technology products for the residential and commercial marketplaces.

“Advancements in security technology, such as RISCO’s LightSYSTM 2, enables householders to use a smartphone app to see live video of their home on demand whilst they are out and about as well as to receive security alerts.

“Police Forces everywhere want residents to take whatever steps they can to protect their homes to reduce crime and keep communities safe – and new smart technology is playing a key role in driving the growing demand for security products.”
